Inspired by Cindys post about pincushions which made me smile a lot, I took a picture of my needlebook. I stiched it with 9 as a third grader – very neat! Inside it is more Me now – so you can see that even an orderly little girl can change to somebody with character :-)

oh, ha! love it! you can’t judge a book by its cover. amazing stitching for a nine year old. and how wonderful that you still have it.
We had to stitch just the same kind of book…40 years ago! Yes, maybe class 3 being 9 years old.
Wouldn’t be able to do it again. I bought a pincushion from Heike Gerbig (gerdiary.blogspot.de). She sold a series of “therapeutic” pincushions with stitched words: “stubbornness, sadness…” feeling sad, just give it the old voodoo treatment with your needles..

As a 4th grader I learned to knit socks. Incredible nowadays…
This sort of pincushion could be useful for me too, have already some ideas which words would fit. :-)
Doris I was inspired by you and Cindy. I took pictures of both my pin cushions and needle case. Check it out on my blog. I teach sewing to my kindergarten through 2nd grade kids. They love it even the boys.
